Summary: Set post DH, ignores the Epilogue. Hermione is afflicted with a seemingly incurable disease thanks to an odd coincidence that has to do with crying, shields, and Fleur's thrall. Fleur faces a lot of confusion with Hermione's odd behavior, and old scars of her own that take a toll on both women. All in all, the story's a good bit of drama and occasional sexual scenes that eventually stems into a much larger love story following how Hermione is 'cured' of her illness. Hey everyone,
I'm currently juggling a thesis and a dissertation proposal, which is why I haven't updated in...a rather long time. However, I have a question for the dissertation. I'm studying how femmeslash negotiates between alienation from the female body and a desire for female sexual agency and, for the proposal, I'm looking for quotes/stories which (probably unwittingly) express negative attitudes regarding female sexuality, or, at least, a difficulty in conceptualizing female sexuality outside of a phallocentric economy.
Now, what the hell did I just say? Um, basically, I theorize that a lot of femmeslash, through no fault of the authors, is trying to get over the fact that women's bodies have been objectified, so there's difficulty in relating to them aesthetically, or that, in our culture, sex without a penis isn't "real sex."
What am I asking you? Does anyone have an example of misogyny in hp femmeslash? Any pairing, any rating. Because this might be considered sporking, and I do not wish to encourage that, you can totally e-mail/private message me. (e-mail: morosetintedglasses[at]gmail[dot]com.
And, just as a disclaimer, I am not claiming that femmeslash itself is misogynistic. Rather, I'm discussing how it's a medium for working-out the misogyny that women are socialized into. Which is good.

I've looked everywhere for this one Bella/Tonks fic I read, but I can't seem to find it. I read it quite a while ago and I have a terrible memory, but I at least remember that in the fic there was a large section of when they met--when Tonks was five or seven (or around that age, at least). Sorry, I know that doesn't really narrow it down much but that's all I can remember right now. Could anyone redirect me to it, please? :) |

Although there a lot of fic fests in process, this seems to be a quiet spell before anything gets posted. SO, since I'm a gal who likes instant gratification, how about a teeny little femslash fest in the meantime?
To submit a prompt just post a short - like 4-6 lines - section of your chosen poem or song lyrics in a comment to this post (and attribute the poem or song if ya can, cos creative people like to be credited for their work).
To claim a prompt, reply to that comment saying that you want to write it. No limits on the number of people who claim any given prompt, though it might be more fun to get some variety.
When you've written the fic (or drawn the art, produced the playlist etc.) then post it to hp_girlslash . Easy right? Here's hopin for lots of femslashy goodness!
